Superbooth celebrated its 10th anniversary this year which coincides with another anniversary: AE Modular started its life on Kickstarter in November 2016, but this will be a topic in a later blog post.
This year we had a shared booth again with tangible waves, Wonkystuff and BF Synth rubbing shoulders and showing off the power of tiny modules and even tinier micro modules and wires as thin as spaghetti. I was a lot more relaxed this year than in previous years, because our booth was in the "quiet" section, where only headphone music was allowed, so that we could have a normal conversation with the many people who visited us to get a first look or just to say hello.
No youtubers of note disturbed our peace this year, but there was a bit of interest earlier at Synthfest France, see below.
In any way, it was fun, a bit exhausting as usual, and just great to catch up with so many people whom one meets online every day, but can only meet in real life once a year at most. Thanks to everyone who showed up with interest or in support of this fantastic community! I was especially happy to see that the mood in the modular scene remains fantastic despite the growing global problems and crises. My impression is that this is a truly resilient community — one that continues to focus on creativity and joy and cooperation regardless of the circumstances. In my opinion, it could even serve as a model for other fields. There were 330 exhibitors this year, more than ever! Sounds of Superbooth If you want to know how the different racks from Robert, BF synth and Wonkystuff sounded like, check out this playlist which Zeno has kindly recorded and uploaded for your listening pleasure. https://forum.aemodular.com/thread/3803/all-demo-racks-superbooth-2026 AE in the Media
Synth Anatomy has interviewed Gregory at Synthfest France previously where they talked about AE Modular and WAEVE-82 in particular:
This caught the attention of synth youtuber Molten Music and he talked about it in this video:

STRING ENSEMBLE Module Teaser
Tangible waves has been showing off a first prototype of a new string synthesizer module, the successor to the Solina module which has been featured in countless AE Modular jams. This module extends the sound to 16 voice polyphony, significantly improved sound quality, a stereo Chorus/Ensemble and also has a built-in stereo phaser. It can be controlled fully via the many knobs, and played by CV/Gate (Chords) or fully polyphonic via IMDI/MIDI. Details are rare at this time, but check in next month for more news about this exciting new development. In the meantime, you can check out this sound via this post on Instagram, thanks to Synth Anatomy: SAMPLYR R2 The SAMPLYR module got an upgrade! Now, it supports IMDI/MIDI control additionally to CV/Gate; and it has an ADSR volume envelope now! All new orders receive this version automatically, and the good thing is: The price remains unchanged :-) Third Party Products
Wonkystuff
The K2 has been presented at Superbooth and it's making quite the splash. It comes in 3 flavours (which you can change yourself via a PC and USB cable). You can purchase it from the Wonkystuff store at https://wonkystuff.co.uk/k2.html K2 Demon's 'T' Ration If you like the Gléo-Man (aka Wavebard) version of the K2 then you may be interested in this Bandcamp album by Rocky Smalls which contains a sample library made specifically for this module! https://smallrocks.bandcamp.com/album/k2-demon-s-t-ration
Wonkytronic4000 Teaser
This is a super interesting new module which features 4 tracks of samples which play back in different ways to achieve a kind of tape loop sound depending on the samples you choose. Not a lot is known about this module, but you can see and hear some of it in this video:
BF Synth
First and most importantly is that BF Synth has moved away from Tindy to a new website at https://lectronz.com/stores/bfsynths
Also they have officially released their new module called BF-24 DRIFT which emits controlled but chaotic CV for all your modulation needs.
You can find more information and can soon purchase it here: https://lectronz.com/products/bf-24-drift-controlled-chaotic-cv-for-ae-modular News and Music from the Community
A live AE Modular patch from @pol which sounds really nice, check it out:
Droplets - a new track with beautiful visuals from @runningin, combining AE modular with lots of other gear.
Countdown to planet-forming, a roadmap to the synthesis of life - Professore @saltatempo presents us with another astronomy inspired track which shows his love, not only for the stars, but also for relentless experimentation with modular synthesis! There's a lot to learn from this video, so check it out and stick around!
Sequenced Cluster follows right after the roadmap with some cool middle eastern rhythms
Look Mum WAeve82 - Here, maybe for the first time, @maydonpoliris serves us his first impressions of the new polyphonic wavetable synth in a cool Jazz fashion. So mix yourself a cocktail of your choice, find a lounge and nod along to these cultured beats.
No Through Road - Join @maydonpoliris on this trippy walk through the Sydney bush. This video is a real treat musically and visually!
And finally a special treat again from @pol aka Roger Wilson who started his AE Modular synth journey with this album, Galilean Sequence, which you can still find, and purchase on Bandcamp! Check it out, it's wonderful!

We had a very special Zoom Meetup right after Superbooth where Robert and the 3rd Party guys joined in directly from Berlin and told us all about their new modules and their experience of this year's main event.
Join us again for the next meeting on June 6th at 8pm UTC. More info as usual on this forum page, which you can access once you've signed up and logged in:
