Superbooth is just around the corner and I'm busy with getting everything ready for the biggest show of the year! Again I'll be joined by the wonderful 3rd party people, John from Wonkystuff as well as Zeno and Gregory from BFSynths. This year we will be presenting all the cool new AE Modular gear in a relatively quiet corner. As those of you, who have been visiting our booth in the previous years, know it was usually incredibly noisy, a real pandemonium of competing synth and drum noises from all directions. That was incredibly distracting at first and later became so stressful that all of us were completely exhausted from the noise and having to yell above the noise all day, that we needed weeks to get back to "normal" after attending the booth for just 3 days. This year will be different because Superbooth now has a quiet part of that big hall where only headphones are allowed! We are all very much looking forward to that, and hope that we can finally have a normal conversation with anyone who visits our booth. If you are visiting and want to find us, we are in the main hall (next to the swimming pool) at the far back. New ProductsWAEVE82-VF Yet another mini system! However the WAEVE82-VF is the full package:
You can see and hear for yourself how this module can sound like. This system is now being sold in our shop at the introductory price of EUR 296.00 (with FX) or EUR 229.00 (without the FX module). Please check the website for any additional sales tax, postage, etc. This is available in our online shop here. White Frontplates We now have white frontplates available for most modules. So if you want to build an all white or all black or checkered system, we've got you covered! Please note that the white option is not necessarily in stock for all modules. Third Party ProductsWe are sure that the 3rd party makers are busy cooking something tasty to present at the booth and can hardly wait to see it! K2 from Wonkystuff However Wonkystuff has already gone ahead and released the AE Modular version of Bastle's Kastle2 hardware! This is an incredibly versatile module! It can be ordered pre-loaded with any of 3 firmwares:
You can also load any of these firmwares onto the module yourself and the Wonkystuff website has all the links to the info you need to do that. https://wonkystuff.co.uk/k2.html Drift from BF Synth They say they have a very exciting module in the works and hopefully ready to show at Superbooth. Here's just a teaser … it will be a clone of the eurorack module of the same name which is a "modulation source for creating organic, always changing, never repeating control voltages. The main algorithm is based on Perlin noise, but there are three other algorithms to choose from if you want a different flavor." (https://freemodular.org/modules/Drift/) We think this module would be a perfect companion for the WAEVE-82 to give it even more modulation goodness! News and Music from the CommunityMaydonpoliris started an interesting thread about sequencing options with this video. which led to the discussion of various nifty ways to use the RAW output of the SEQ8 module for things unrelated to pitch. Please chime in at https://forum.aemodular.com/thread/3764/trying-out-sequencing-variation Beaucarnea is the collaboration spanning half the globe between maydonpoliris and pol. There is now a new track on Bandcamp which is definitely worth checking out: https://beaucarnea.bandcamp.com/track/all-that-waits-is-oblivion Saltatempo has presented us with a new auditory glimpse into the universe with his newest track on Youtube: Also from Saltatempo comes this view into the bowels of the earth! JcAspes is showing a patch controlled by a web MIDI emulator of MUSE which generates MIDI notes and has apparently been invented by Marvin Minsky (one of the earliest researchers in artificial intelligence). It is very beautiful .. You can find the MUSE emulator website here: https://www.skadubpc.net/public/Muse_MIDI/# Running In has produced another great ambient sound experiment, which you can see here: tIB has released another album, or better yet, a physical cassette! It looks super cool and sounds great! Check it out: https://cptrrecords.bandcamp.com/album/bloom faux cyrillic shows an interesting patch using some of the modules he makes and it features a not yet released prototype of the Teletype module. This looks really cool! You can join the discussion about this module here: https://forum.aemodular.com/thread/3766/new-rack-testing Meetings and EventsSuperbooth is on from 7th to 9th of May 2026! Get your tickets soon and don't miss out. We hope to see you in person! https://www.superbooth.com/en/ AE Modular Zoom We are settling into a very relaxed round, talking about synths, electronic music and our various projects around AE Modular and other gear. However we are always happy to welcome new faces to our truly international group, which already spans the full globe, from Australia, via Europe, England to the west coast of the USA.
The next meetup will be very special as we will try to have Robert and the 3rd party guys join us straight after they've packed up their Superbooth stand! You wouldn't want to hearing all the news straight from the source! Follow the link below for more info closer to the date: Saturday, 9th May 2026 at 9pm UTC |
